Monday 12th March 2012 The Time Machine (seminar) 14:30 with CS
This session was to enable us to discus initial visual references and ideas in relation to the proposed 'Time Machine' Essay. I had two films to discuss, the first being Tron (both the old and the new film), the second being 'The Good German' a 2006 hommage to Film Noir. I'd printed out some stills from 'The Good German' that I found online last night and took the DVD as well. The post war period and realism interests me so I'm looking at investigating Film Noir. Possibly asking questions about it cultural origins and demise, and analysing why the genre is so powerful. Powerful enough to prompt contemporary re-visiting of the genre in films such as 'The Good German'.
