Free Day Friday 17th February 2012 Student Rep Course revalidation

Friday 17th February 2012 Student Rep Course re validation .

11:30 Attended this review with both internal and external re validation team that looks at all UCA courses before approving them. All three first year photography reps were present as well as one from second, and one from third year. Most of the questions from the panel were aimed at the others courses, but a number were aimed at photography. I expressed the concern with lack of feedback via the blogs, but explained that we had already raised this with Caroline (Course leader), and communication/feedback was raised by others.

We had also been requested to attempt further capture characterisation references by JS as our ideas firm up for our Fashion Constructed image. Not knowing anyone personally who could model for our image I knew I'd have to shoot more random people, or better still use an image I shot in my first 'street shoot' at Stoneleigh of a chap (RH side of image). We have so many options that until we bottom out the Narrative 100% on Monday (at our production meeting) getting the right look is almost impossible atm. Options include; Very young models, ethnic groups (JS mentioned the Chinese for example), heavily disguised individuals, cliched/handsome/brutish looking models.

Shot a few weeks back by myself, I love the RH chaps posture and his hat (although 1940's). He just looked right in his period outfit, and that look and feel of correctness is what I would hope to find for our 1960's themed models.
