Day 59 Tuesday 21st February 2012 Fashion Constructed Image (tutorial)

Tuesday 21st February 2012 Fashion Constructed Image (tutorial)

Today was the first chance to sit down with SC and discuss our progress and methodology with regards to the project. We outlined our approach, concept and narrative, and had a very open and useful conversation about many aspects of the work. Everything was very positive, we were encouraged to continue to push and challenge with our endeavours and aspirations. It was encouraging to be assured we were doing well with our approach and progress.
A number of points we'd yet to define were discussed and a couple of subtle twists and tweaks were considered. One related to the ethnic background of our model(s) based on an idea taken with a previous conversation between JS and myself. This idea has led us to seriously consider an Asian (Far East) female model. The colouration of her dress is mostly likely to be red, and the room is more likely to be a more defined hotel space (until now it was simply classified as Residential/Hotel).

Some real key issues that shape the image were discussed and those mostly related to cliche and it's use. The subtle question of how far away we can stray from cliches before the narrative and visual language become confused or difficult to read.
This issue will be agreed , and from that agreement the more subtle aspects of the image will emerge.

The team have been working hard and have started considering props, casting, costings, and costume. We continue to meet at least once a week using a formalised meeting structure using an agenda, with minutes taken and actions allocated.
