Following on from this session we returned to LT1 at 12:15 for a second lecture, this time presented by Professor Ulrich Lehmann. An in depth overview of the concepts of waste within the fashion industry, starting with 'Images of Waste' The concepts of Fashion Cycles, built in obsolescence, 'Slow fashion' were all discussed. Also discussed were recycling, and repair and links between fine art and fashion photography with regards concepts and trends.
I don't claim to be have a great interest in the genre of fashion photography, but this lectures fascinated me and somehow drew me in.

Following on from The fashion/waste lecture we returned to LT1 after a further break to watch the following film; Koyaanistqati  (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2221718016/tt0085809)

On a non different note, this evening I also had a quick look at the blog relating to the upcoming photogram workshop and noted what was required.

Preparation for Workshop
Please bring different objects to your workshop with Colin Jackson. The schedule for the
workshops is published on the i-cal. Please arrive outside of the store 10 minutes before the start
of your session.
The objects have to be waste objects that you have found in the streets of Medway.
Please bring materials of different structure and texture such as translucent or opaque objects.
In the style of Christian Schad look out for worn materials, discarded objects, searching for these
things on the streets, your personal environments and in the area of the university.
Enjoy the search and be creative with your objects. The more varied materials you will bring to
your workshop session the more fun you will have, achieving different visual results.
