Day 55 13th February 2012  The Time Machine

Got in early today to return a tripod and loan out another (that I have arranged to collect before I go home)
 Time Machine
10:00 Time Machine Unit Lecture LT1; This session covered the presentation originally scheduled for last Monday, and I'd already read this online thinking we'd maybe skip it due to the bad weather. Some rather heavy ideas such as Transcendental Realism (Kant). Scientific realism, ideology, Soviet Socialist Realism (Soviet Propaganda). It was suggested we read Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert (which has also been made into a film). Micheal then advised us to watch one of a number of films listed within the presentation and review it via a blog entry for Thursday 1st March. Being a war film fan and collector I ordered Roberto Rossellinis 'Rome, Open City 1946' which should be with me in 2-3 days.'Please watch one of the films identfied in this lecture. Through your analysis and contextual enquiry write a film review that comments on the film’s relationship to ideas about Realism. Essays should include focused consideration of two scenes from the film.'

After the Time Machine lecture and Seminar team one had our second Production Shoot meeting. Two members of the group were missing due to illness, so any outcome or solutions we came up with will be proposals that once published in the minutes will be openly discussed and hopefully agreed to. My agenda was used (as published in the dropbox) and I'll be writing up and also publishing the minutes via my blog and the Dropbox as soon as possible.

Upon returning home I've attempted to start read Linda Nochlin’s Realism essay from 1971 (Penguin New York) as recommended, which I have to say is pretty heavy going.

I've also taken the time to check all the blog updates relating to the various projects.
